Decision tool
When the choice is hard, weigh it.
For decisions with many moving parts and strong feelings attached: which coach, which team, which job. Say where your gut is first. Then list every reason, rank it, rate it, and see which way the balance tips, and how much the result actually rests on.
You have a decision saved in this browser. Continue with it, or start fresh. Starting fresh removes it from this browser, so download a copy first if you want to keep it.
Name the options
Use short names. They label every reason below. You can compare up to six.
Check your gut first
Before you list anything: which way are you leaning right now? Answer honestly. Comparing your gut with the result is often where the insight is.
List and rank the reasons
Each reason favours one option. Keep one idea per reason: splitting one idea into several, such as “growth” and “future opportunities”, counts it more than once.
Put them in order of importance. Rank matters more than rating: the top reason carries the most weight, and with ten reasons it counts ten times as much as the last. Then rate how strongly each reason favours its option. There is no middle point, so you have to commit.
See the balance
Your first result is kept. If you change the list after seeing it, the tool shows what you changed and whether it moved the result.
